As most of you know Nick is working at Mandalay Bay. He's working the graveyard shift full-time as well as attending school full-time. Sometimes it gets a little overwhelming for a couple of different reasons...
1. It seems like he's ALWAYS going, going, going and never sleeping;
2. I know it's life, but we don't get enough time together; and
3. the atmosphere at work is NOT the best, if you know what I'm saying.
But there are also some good things about working there. The people that own this Valet Company are such great people and treat Nick so well. In fact he was just moved to graveyard Supervisor. He continues to move up and up! :) We are blessed because of these good people and Nick's hard work.
Nick also has made some great friends who have just gotten off their missions. I always ask him how work was and what happened and so on. He always gets the most random tips and meets a lot of different celebrities. SO... we sat down the other day and wrote up a list of all the people he's meet and random tips. Check it out...
Famous people:
Mike Tyson
Shug Knight
Rob N' Big
Ja Rule
Nikki Hilton
Jermain Oneal - He gave Nick a $100 tip :)
Michael Jordan
Zab Juda
George Bush - saw him in a limo- didn't actually meet him.
If you don't know who some of those people are, don't worry I'm the same way. He always has to explain to me what show, or music group they're in.
Random Tips:
4 different hats
Corn beef sandwich
In n' Out Burger-Double Double
2 Ties - Nice ones too!! :)
Cases of water - the whole crew... not a personal tip
Cases of Monsters - energy drink
$20 in poker chips - no he didn't go inside the casino to use them :)
Pizza
McDonald's Gift Certificates
CD's
Hot Chocolate
Krispy Kreme
Disneyland Key Chain
$100 tip from some drunk dude!
AND OF COURSE... a Prostitute stole his phone... yes it's a long story. :) So when he's not getting tipped he's getting jipped. So if any of you have tried to call his phone and it says "out of service", that's why. And his favorite is when people from Wyoming come through. :)

Those are some awesome tips! How funny is that phone story. Well...it will be funny after he has a new phone I guess!
Lindi-I can not tell you how similar this sounds. Jason worked at the Mandalay Bay during school for the first couple years of our marriage. I was finishing school too. It was rough. I remember feeling so bad for Jason with no sleep. It broke my heart. I'm so glad you show your appreciation for Nick so well. It's so important. Hang in there- it gets better.
Also-Jason gave a girl asked for a ride once after work. Jason said he'd drive her home to be nice and she turned out to be a prostitute. They must hang out there a lot!
I know that life can be hard while working so many hours and weird shifts, but hang in there. Someday you will look back and be glad it is over and that you got through it. Jayson and I are both working over 50 hours a week and don't get to see each other or our kids much and it is tuff, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. I just tell myself everyday we can do this and it won't last forever. That is pretty cool for Nick to meet famous people and get such extraordinary tips. One thing about Vegas, you see ALL kinds!
Good story. Robb and I live in St George and I work at a repossession company. I cover the Las Vegas area so I've had some very interesting things happen also. I guess I must not be too old because I knew almost everyone that he had met. What a fun experience.
I thought that post was hilarious! At least his job is interesting and keeps him on his toes!
Btw, I need your mailing address and phone #...you can e-mail them to me if you'd like at aubscott23@yahoo.com
hey lindi,
So I LOVE your ever changing header (the picture with it's a wonderful life thing!!) I am just impressed every time I look at your blog!! and.. i also loved the post!! hope all is well with school and work.. I know how it sucks not to see your husband, but someday it will turn for the better :)
Lind--I LOVE the hooker story! It's probably my favorite...next to Sprack :) I miss you, but I will SEE you soon! Love you!
OH, that was so funny! I can't believe people would actually tip people that stuff. Dave and I were laughing so hard.
(And I also love you Header. It looks amazing!)
Sounds like a sweet job that Nick has. I know how it is when you are both going to school, and Matthew works like crazy with two jobs. It gets tuff sometimes. But I guess you just have to enjoy the time you do get to spend together.
thats to bad about the phone! dang
Hey Lindi- We have way too many places we are supposed to be this weekend. How is Friday the 24th? Sorry, I know that's annoying to plan so far in advance but that's how life is getting around here. We really want to get together with you guys so let me know if that day would work.
PS- I did that header on my own. Do you have any idea how to make it smaller? It's driving me crazy how big it is. ;)
